Death of a Drone

I had packed my drone and controller away and we were heading back to West Van Yacht Club when we saw some interesting boats passing Point Atkinson. So – one more eh? But this time the fates did not smile on us! Whether it was dampness in the controls or a freak wave … who knows … but when pushing the lever forward to take of .the drone went sideways – into the drink!

Luckily not all was lost. The video footage had been captured by the controller(Google/ ASUS Nexus) and I was able to recover the products of those 3 hours spent n the water. See the video for the drone’s last moments!

A great day (Good Friday as usual) at the end of March 2018 … weather cooperated (kind of) and after a half-hour delay waiting for wind .. we had the pleasure of one of the fastest Southern Straits on record. Thanks to WVYC for the organisation (Mike Seper) and for the  Photo/Chase boat (Bob Michaels)  .. and Steve Britten for the stills!

My latest sailing video was the West Vancouver Yacht Club ‘Pumpkin Regatta’ on 14th October. The enthusiasm of the kids was infectious – terrific atmosphere! And the weather improved (unusual for October) … so the Sunday was warm and (after a beer) ‘fuzzy’ too.
